John & Karen Mullis began Karen's Custom Sewing in 2001 to provide interior accents, custom window treatments, & all things shade in the Carolinas.  As the company grew they expanded into exterior shade solutions by creating Charlotte Awnings Unlimited.

For Charlotte Awnings Unlimited, shade structures such as retractable awnings & other fabric canopies & awnings, solar screens, & the like are the core of our business.  Since the company's inception in 2001, we have expanded from custom interior treatments into many areas, including window tinting, motorized retractable awnings & screens, & umbrellas.  In addition, as a family owned business, operating with family values, we offer high quality products & a dedication to excellent service.  We believe in building relationships with our clients & consider customer referrals the highest possible compliment.
